Are the "English" eccentric because their royals are part French as opposed to Norman? Or vice versa?

Why were the "English" nobles portrayed as being racist? Is it because they were race conscious on account of their own mixed ancestry? Did the Anglo-Saxons, Brits, Scots, Danes make them overly proud of their French and Norman ancestry? Were they loathe to stop speaking French after the Hundred Years War?

  1. for your info the normans were not french they just spoke french,they were a mix of briton and.dane that is why william the conquerer had claim to the english throne ,and to the answer above,prince philip has no greek blood because his family were given the greek throne ,he is in fact danish/english heritage,and as far as the queen goes her ancestory goes back as far as william the conquerer
