Question:

Are the radical changes planned in cricket good for the game??

I was good at cricket as a kid, I played county level up till 16, but then gave up the sport when it became 50 overs. . It takes up too much of the day, and it's boring. 8 overs of forward defensives, feeling a bowler out, it 's tedious.

All cricket should be 20-20, people should go out there and slog, bat, that's what the fcuking bat is for. I can't stand 5 day tests and 50 overs. There is a place for 5 day tests, of course, but 50 overs should be scrapped, and replaced with 20-20, real cricket

any thoughts?

  1. 20-20 is only for batsman, there is no respect for bowler .all you have to do is slog and slog forgetting your class and the real u.There should be changes but not radically. i think they are trying to introduce some changes in the 50-50 concept.

  2. Now I can say with 100% confidence that you are a batsman. I think the reason you gave up cricket is because when it got to fifty overs you couldn't bat for long periods of time without losing your concentration and getting bored. So you didn't get picked. I played a match yesterday and scored 33 not out. it took me 21 overs and we won the match. We chased down 122. It was a thirty over match. I scord slowly but it was enough and cept my concentration. No I enjoy the long game .

Cricket is not for everyone and some people will inevitably not like it. I hope cricket is not tacken over by people who don't actually like it. Long tong 5 day tests!

  3. dont concentrate on this pl we are having somuch burning issues

  4. Think 50 overs should stay. 50 overs are more of a competition between bat and ball. 20/20 is quick but scoring 10 runs an over can be quite irritating to watch. Both can exist, purists have Tests and 5 overs, Others will watch only 50 overs and others tests and the 20/20 for spreading the game and keeping it modern

  5. You "gave up the sport when it became 50 overs"? That means you used to play five day or four day matches but couldn't stand 50 overs, and now want us to believe that T20 is real cricket?

How old are you now? When did you supposedly "give up cricket" because it was too long? If you did not have the patience and technique to bat in a 50 over game, how do you suppose you would have fared in a Test match/4-day game? You cannot hold your own disenchantment with the game to justify the scrapping of a format that requires far more skill and temperament to succeed in. And are you saying that if T20 becomes the norm you will start playing again? The game will probably be better off without you.

  6. It needs to be that much to give England a chance otherwise they might as well give up altogether.
