Considering the state he was in when he left yes they are. Going down the stretch they did not need a daily distraction from Manny in their club house.

Manny giving 100% makes anyteam better, but the way he was playing and his attitude toward going to work every day was distracting and bringin the Sox down, so yes.

They seem to be. I think they will be a better "team" without Manny, and Jason Bay isn't a huge loss in production from Manny.

Although....if the Olympics are any indication, you may not want to put one of us Canadians in a clutch situation...

I would say yes..I would have liked to have seen him stay and help them for the last two months get to the playoffs but I think in the long run, they'll be much better off in all aspects...he's not getting any younger, he's a terrible fielder and he's very selfish...Jason Bay has fit in nicely in Boston and will be a good player for them for years to come...

Yes, his attitude was dragging the clubhouse down. Plus, Youk is on a tear right now at the clean up spot. Good Ridance!

Looking from now yes because David Ortiz is starting to tear the cover off the ball and Manny was a bad influence and a distraction to the Fans, Fenway, players, staff, and managers. He is playing better in LA and they Red Sox won't regret it because without him they have a chance going to the Playoffs. Manny wasn't a great player in 2008 because he is too much being a show off so he can't play and Boston turned on him and so he made a distraction on purpose to get traded. I mean he peed on the Green Monster at Fenway Park!
