Are the roads closed when a blizzard warning is in effect?

LEVEL 3 (Snow Advisory)

All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be driving during this condition unless it is absolutely necessary or a personal emergency exists. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report for work. That is the definition of a level 3 snow advisory, but what about a blizzard, isn't that worse? Is a blizzard considered a level 3?

Or does anyone know if the roads in batesville, Indiana are or will be closed or impassable before midnight tonight?

who knows  but your local weather on yahoo migh help and in a white out  or blizzard you can really drive anyway unless you stick your head out the door so you can see the ground under the car and i dont think you should be driving like that do you stay at home or spend the nite at work your choice if they dont like it tell them to come get ya and take you home not worth your life is it

What I do is always watch the news and if it looks too bad to drive then I dont take the chance, call work and explain this and they will understand.

I have never heard of a snow storm being assigned a level. If a road is closed in Pa. it is announced on tv and radio and the police just stop the traffic.

The roads are closed when the conditions make travel unsafe for all.    Whether or not to close the roads may depend on ice,  wind,   snow depth,  and the resources of emergency personnel to respond to incidents.

generally if a cop see you driving in it he can give you a ticket, most are to busy to mess with it.  however if you get stuck and have to call for help you will get a ticket plus yelled at and a high tow bill
