Question:

Are the roads safer?

I've noticed these last couple of weeks that traffic has generally slowed down, except for the odd idiot. I believe this is probally due to the high cost of fuel and of recent the chance of fuel shortages because of the strikes. Also in the evenings there seems to be less traffic. Do you think the roads are safer for it. If so then the high fuel prices and the strikes are not all bad.

  1. fuel prices are ridiculous - just like this question (sort of!) no offence x

  2. I don't think so. I believe driving cars are one of the most dangerous forms of travel.

There will always be people who feel the need to speed around and be careless, maybe even more so now that less people are on the roads around where you live.

I live in California, and the density of the traffic around my house never lessens.

    To really answer your question,

It depends, but I wouldn't think so.

  3. There are NO unsafe roads, its the plonkers who drive on them who are unsafe.........dangerous roads are NOT built......as for fuel prices it has nothing to do with safer roads.

  4. There is a lot less traffic during rush hour here too.  I think it's because of the big rise in public transportation users and carpools.  Of course that may change here since the city is going to take advantage of that and raise bus fairs quite a bit.

  5. I think that the roads are safer except for the odd idiot that thinks he/she owns the road but overall I think that the roads are much safer than 2 years ago

  6. UMmm yeah i notice it when i was on the freeway today but holy smokes!!! i only turn 18 and i dont think ill ever drive!! on the gas prices now ;( lol i been waitin forever! ahahah jk but yeah the gas price is-$4.09-$4.15 here..

and i only live in phoenix...
