Are the rocky mountains as Snow/Elevation-sensative as the Sierra Nevadas?

Id lead myself to think the sierras are a little warmer and wetter, and have more direct ocean influenced air differential. you can go between downpour and blizzard with just 200 feet of altitude in the sierras or western nevada.

Yes, especially in the springtime, when the freezing level is somewhere up the slopes of the mountains and the air is more moist.
