Are the spark plugs on a Chevy Lumina 2000 difficult to get to?

The shop is asking too much money, IMO, to replace the plugs and wires on my husband's Chevy Lumina. I'm wondering if the plugs are difficult to get to. Is it worth the $200 labor?

I used to have a Nissan truck with 2 plugs back against the firewall and they were a huge pain, but I could get them changed with patience (and lots of cursing).

  1. It may be worth the money, however...

The front 3 cylinders are easily accessed to change the plugs.

The 3 on the back side will likely require the loosening of the "

"dog-bone" stabilizer on the top/front of the engine. This will enable to to lean the engine forward enough to gain better access to the 3 rear plugs.

The dog-bone stabilizer supports no weight, and merely keeps the engine from twisting too far forward or back when under torque.
