Are the tornados in the US worse this year?

They seem to be going on a long time, and killing a lot of people.

I think so ....I have never seen so many in my life time.  and I am  50 + There has been over  900 nation wide

I think that it is the weather in general that is a little more extreme at the moment. I mean how many floods has Sydney copped over the past 6 months, the early wet in the Northern Territory, and the mini tornado's here in Western Australia.

I think it is supposed to have something to do with the "La Nina" (the opposite of El Nino). This phenomenon produces exaggerated and unusual weather patterns world wide.

It also could be as another poster indicated here, that there is far more global reporting of these events. Either way, the floods, typhoons/cyclones, tornados, earthquakes, and droughts are seeming to be more wide spread and more deadly than ever. Kinda makes you want to take every day as a blessing as you never know what tomorrow will bring!

In some states yes.We have so many everyyear but seldom have we had so many so close together that were so destructive,and following the same paths,That's why you are hearing about them so much.My daughter's home has been hit now twice in two months as of last night.Also my son's and they are about 150 miles apart in different parts of the state.The good news is they only had minor damage,nothing too bad and Thank God for that,Between all three of us that was the third time since january we only got minor or next to none this time my daughter got it worse but nothin we can't altogether repair.Yes we are counting our blessings.If we get any stable weather this year people will talk about that too,its almost time for our tornado season to begin.ha what a joke.We are never in control of the weather .

They aren't any worse, it's just the news covers these events more and hype everything to make it seem worse.
