  1. well, funny thing is, they just lowered the standard for men....they've had a hard time recruiting so they now allow men with police records to join ... isn't that just great? send men to iraq with criminal records.  give men with criminal and violent pasts a break. give them a job with free college benefits...they are so deserving, aren't they?

  2. Don't know, why don't you contact them? I'd imagine so - it's a job, they have training for all, not segreated.

  3. During the 2004 Presidential Campaign idiot Democratic Candidate John Kerry called for doubling the Special Forces. This is a joke that only morons can swallow. SF are a unique individual with a unique skill set. The Mental Toughness is as important as the physical. Sleep deprivation, fatigue, pain, physical Strength, extreme Stress must be overcome and problems solved. Most who enter the program don't make it.

Those who do are highly motivated and rare human beings. It is part of a Warrior Ethos and culture going back thousands of years. To the Ancient Spartans who preferred death to surrender.

I will always accomplish the Mission. I will never quit. I will never admit defeat. I will never let a Comrade (Brother) fall into Enemy hands. Even if it means my life.

Women perform invaluable service in the US Military. And are daily placed in harms way. Subject to Rockets and Mortar attacks, ambushes in Convoys, Sniper fire, IEDs, shaped Charge devices.

  4. No women are not expected nor allowed to perform combat duties, however they are usefull in the supply chain stacking shelfes and cleaning stuff or doing nursery. Since they are not expected to do what a man does different standards to become a marine etc. for men and women are aright, unlike in the police force.

  5. Not totally, men have a higher Physical fitness standard. But for other things identical jobs yes. But the US rightly has no female S.F., infantry, etc Woman would be unable to do it in my opinion.  Due to pure biological makeup most woman are not able to physically able to do the same physical tasks as men. You show me a woman who can pickup my 200 pound husband while he is in 50+ pounds of gear and run with him......

A very few woman can perform at male standards without experiencing health, muscle or joint problems. Sorry if it sucks but its nature not prejudice.

  6. No they are not, they have different standards on all branch's PFT's and are also given a quota in certain jobs. They are also treated a lot differently in my time in that I have seen, things a man would never be allowed to get away they are, mostly due to fear of a sexual harassement or assault charge being leveled at the senior officer or NCO.

AN intresting side note is that woman are on the average found to be more skilled at hand/eye co-ordination and with languages, men of course more physically strong and durable, so perhaps, much like the book "Starship Trooper" many pilots and surgeons will be females and the grunts as always will be men.
