  1. Yeah there really fast thanks to Stalin what a b*****d

  2. Hi

    Italy has got fast trains:

    Eurostar Italia trains...

Trenitalia's top-of-the-range services are the Eurostar Italia high-speed (or in some cases, tilting) trains, sometimes indicated as just 'ES*' or 'AV' (AV = alta velocità =high speed).  They run at up to 175mph  when using the special high-speed lines.  Special fares are charged for these trains, and tickets always include a seat reservation - in other words, you can't just turn up and hop on, you need to make a reservation on a specific train first.  Eurostar Italia tickets are only valid on the train which has been booked.

    InterCity & InterCity Plus...

Next in the pecking order are the InterCity & InterCity Plus trains, fast trains hauled by locomotives at up to 100-125mph.  There's hardly any difference between InterCity & InterCity Plus.  All InterCity Plus trains are 'seat reservation obligatory' whilst most InterCity trains are 'seat reservation optional'.  A small supplement is payable by railpassholders for InterCity or InterCity Plus trains, about 5 euros.

    Diretto, InterRegional & Regional trains...

No seat reservation is necessary (or, in many cases, possible), you just buy a ticket and hop on.  No supplement for railpassholders.

To go from Rome Rimini to Rome count about 4 hours, some trains are faster than others, you will have to change in Bologna. If you take Eurostar Italia, it be just under 4 hours. But you need a reservation.

Important:  tickets must be validated immediately before you board your train, by inserting them into the small yellow machines at the entrance to every platform.  There's a fine if you don't!

And yes trains can be delayed, but usually Eurostar Italia is relialable, but not always!
