  1. WOW CONGRATULATIONS THEY WON A GAME!!!! JUST BECAUSE THEY WON A GAME IT MEANS "THEY ARE BACK FROM THE DEAD"......UHM NO......THEY AREN'T MAKING THE PLAYOFFS HOLY FRIG, PEOPLE MAKE ME SO FRUSTRATED, JUST ACCEPT THE FRIGGIN FACT THAT THEY AREN'T GOING TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS FOR ONCE...THEY SUCK THIS YEAR! NO PITCHING NO CLUTCH HITTING, EVEN LAST YEAR IN THE PLAYOFFS YOUR LITTLE JOBA CHAMBERLAIN CHOOOOOKKKKKKEDDDDDD ON THOSE BUGS.....NOW THIS YEAR THE YANKS CCHHHHOOOOKKKKKEEEDDDD ON THEIR 200 MILLION DOLLAR PAYROLL......THEY ARE OUT LIVE WITH IT MOVE ON, THEY AREN'T BACK FROM THE DEAD!

And if you are going to assume I'm a Red Sox fan, I'm not...I happen to dislike them too. Boston and Tampa are playing better baseball then the New York Yankees, simple as that. Done. End of story. Goodbye.

  2. No, because the Yankees, if they want to win the division have to beat out both the Red Sox AND the Twins/White Sox. And just because they beat the Red Sox once doesn't mean that all of a sudden they're back in it. They have been having a horrible year and I think it will be great to see some new blood in the playoffs.

  3. no im pretty sure there dead.

  4. Are you for real?  After last night I have to think that the Yankees are all but finished for 2008.  They have no shot at the playoffs this season.

  5. i don't think it'll happen...at all. GO SOX :)

  6. i wouldnt count them out of it.

like u said theres still a month left and there only 6 games back

they do need to step up there play though if they want to gain ground in the AL east//wild card

  7. NO They can't make it through September Alive the Sox and Rays are too Far Ahead of The Yankees.

  8. Six back with thirty to play is still quite a challenge. Even if the Red Sox go 15-15, the Yankees will still need to finish 22-8 AND hope that the Twins or Sox also falter just to tie for the wild card spot. Given that the Yankees have series left with Tampa Bay, the White Sox, the Angels AND the Red Sox in Fenway to finish the season, I think it is a bit of a long shot. Realistically, they would probably need to sweep Detroit, Seattle, Baltimore and Toronto.

...but I've been watching baseball long enough to know better than to count the Yankees out until they are mathematically eliminated.

  9. They have to keep winning and if they do, I think they have a great chance of at least winning the Wild-Card spot.

  10. yankees are dead in the water.  had to win today in the 9th to avoid a sweep at home??  they are in bad shape

  11. Dude, I'm just as happy as you. But let's not get crazy. They still lost one game in the standings and have continued to fail hitting in the clutch.

Great to get the last game between the teams at Yankee Stadium. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Six games out with a month to go is going to be TOUGH to make up.

  12. I doubt they'll make a run like they did last year. Their offense and pitching won't help them, and the Yanks won't make the playoffs.

  13. no way the yankees can do it a rod will just s***w all that stuff up for them.  if he starts hitting homers or doubles or even singles than maby they have a chance but i think its too late for them to come back and if they do i will sit in amazement.  but i don't see that happening only because i don't like the yanks but i respect them all except a rod

  14. I'd rather have a slight chance to still make it than no chance to make it like my Reds. Good luck.

  15. You just said they were done last night.  god you guys a full of c**p.

stick to one thing you say.  HYPROCRITS

  16. Well i'm not a yankee fan but the season's not over yet.. .. although its gonna be very well... its gonna be very very.... tough to say the least. i'm no psychic and i'm not God either so.. who knows.

they could try though, why not? at least they would get out or in miraculously with some sort of bang

p.s. Moose was a stud today.. always been a fan of him

I liked what he said when some reporter asked if he liked the Yankees chances after the Yankees won the game, he said "we have to win one game a day, if we do that and win 29 games I like our chances."

  17. Quick! Re-sign him to a six-year, $150M deal. He's the hart and sole of the team!

Though what deer and fish have to do with baseball is a bit of a puzzler....

  18. no i think it's too big a lead plus they would have to pass the sox (who have an easy schedule down the stretch) and the twins.  to have any shot they will have to sweep the sox next month.  Also terry francona blew that game today by keeping masterson in the game with his best pitcher ready in the bullpen.

  19. theyre done wait till 2009
