Most of our ceilings are standard height and ceiling fans aren't allowed because of how low they hang. Are there any ceiling fans that are legal for an electrician to install in that height of ceiling?

  1. Well the thing here is safety, if you have a Family member or friend who happens to be 6' tall and they raise their hands and the fan is on, well do I have to say more. that is why they don't want you to have one cause someone could get hurt.

  2. I would say that any flush mounted ceiling fan can fit in your room.  A tall person is going to have trouble with it.  As far as that's concerned you can hang the fan, you don't need an electrician.

  3. Assuming you are renting, you could speak with your landlord and see if he would allow you to install a flush mount fan. You may have to get something in writing for the sake of liability. If there is an existing light fixture, you should be able to install it there, then when you leave, it is easy to remove.
