  1. Samuel Peter is a pretty decent fighter with a big punch. I like the welterweight division better these days though. Peter is looking to fight Klitchko later on this summer. He has one of the belts now so keep an eye out on him.

  2. David Haye is nice to watch fight and probably will be in the heavy weights soon but hes nothing like the likes of the fighters you mentioned in your question. I think it will be quite a while before another heavyweight of those fighters calibur ever show up if at all. Plus this David Haye guy might be a little too small to even beat the current champs out there but we shall see.

  3. agreed David Haye is the man to watch

the UK have some g8 boxers at the moment

  4. ALEXANDER POVETKIN

  5. Yeah the heavyweight divisions the worst its been for a long time..sadly there dosent even seen to be any real talent coming through David Haye as the guy above says...hes a decent fighter but hes never a true heavyweight and no were near the standard of the guys you mentioned above...I heard Holyfield on TV talking about a rematch with Tyson with the winner fighting for the title i don't know if hes just saying that to create headlines to sell the book hes got out but it just shows how poor the standard is when were even talking about it.hopefully someone will come along soon as its wide open...

  6. The future champ of the division is definitly Wladimir Klitschko.  even though his last fight was boring he has the talent and the power and will within the next two years be the unified heavywieght champion.  Also a new up and coming fighter is Chris Aerolla.  What makes him exciting is that he is a latin fighter and is faster than most heavywieghts.  His fights are always fun to watch and he is immensly skilled.

  7. haye stands no chance, look back on this after he has tried an failed and say wow that guy was right!

  8. Well the division is weak because it lacks numbers- down to about 1/4 its historical size, now that so many people choose to do stuff like football, rugby, athletics, bodybuilding, olympic sports etc instead these days.

A single great fighter is not going to reverse that problem.

He will be good to watch and inject some life into the division for sure, but he will not become an all time icon like Ali, demspey, loius, or tyson  by beating a c**p small division.

I think those golden days are probably over for Hwt  boxing.

  9. As of right now, there is no one that is up-and-coming that compares to Tyson, Ali, or Lewis.  The closest thing you'll get to a good rising heavyweight prospect is Cristobal Arreola.  He is an undefeated American heavyweight contender with a lot of knockouts.  I still don't think that he has the ability to beat Klitschko or anybody of that caliber, but who knows because he has a lot of power and is exciting to watch.  It'll be interesting to see how far he goes, but he is the closest thing you'll get to a good up-and-coming heavyweight.

  10. david haye is talking about moving to heavyweight division

  11. Well Samuel Peter is just the new David Tua.

David Haye will probably fight at around 230 to 235 lbs, and hes 6ft 3, so hes not actually that small!

At cruiser, Haye wasnt that durable, his chin and stamina were suspect.

IF that was due to boiling down to the Cruiser limit, and not the fact that he is naturally chinny, he will clean up at heavy!

He is fast, determined, hits hard, and is highly skilled...so provided his chin holds up, hes got it all!

Apart from that there arent that many grwat prospects out there Chris Aerolla and Povetkin are ok, but theyre not the next Ali, Lewis or Holmes.

PS; Ialways felt Tyson was a little overrated. He came in during a slump in the division. He was lucky that he never had to face a peak Larry Holmes or Lennox Lewis in the late 1980's.

  12. David Haye will clean up. Wladmir Klitschko is a p***y lets be honest. Watch out for Povetkin, very good boxer.

Evander Holyfield climbed the ranks recently to get a title shot recently, if he can do that at his age it just shows that the division is very weak
