Are their any true Italian or Italian-American communities in L.A.?

I will be travelling to SoCal in February with family from Itay. In addition to seeing everything else this area has to offer, I'd like to know if their is a thriving, authentic Italian community in Los Angeles. If so, where is it and what's it like?
