I have my ipod USB cord and car charger, the charger can only hook up to a USB cord ( the cord and charger came together if that matters), and I have a USB cord for my phone and I was wondering if it would be safe to use it with my car charger for my ipod. My car chargers is somewhere in my brothers room, and I'm leaving for vacation and don't have time to buy a new one if it can wait until I get back. Thanks for the help.

  1. When you plug that into a computer USB port the power that goes into the iPod is always 5 volts. When you plug that car charger for the phone into the 12 volt car outlet I believe 5 volts will come out of its internal converter. I tried it once and did not ruin anything so I have faith in that answer.

  2. there are different volts.. but they are usually universal.

  3. Yes!
