do airplanes have less problems in the summer? It would seem like snow, and ice could cause more problems. Cold air would probably better for the engines and air turbulence

  1. With small planes I think there would be more airplane crashes in the winter.

A top contributor to small aircraft engine failure is result of improper preheating.  I would think that this factor would be more prevalent in the winter then in the summer, causing more crashes.

In really cold temperatures it is hard to keep the cylinder temperatures up which I infer can cause wear and effects the mechanics of the plane.

I would think that in addition to there probably being more aerial crashes;  there would also be more landing crashes because of ice, snow which equal slippery conditions.

EDIT:  I think it would really suck to be in a plane crash.

  2. Probably plus the wind. Summer basicly is almost PERFECT weather for flying in a plane!
