Are there ATM's available in Guatemala...?

Yes there are ATM's.  Most resonalble sized towns have at least one, cities will have many to chose from.  

As a rule when I travel, I take enough cash to get me through at least a day without an ATM.

I assume you would be traveling to tourist areas?  Have no fears.  There are ATMs there.  Get off the beaten track and that is a different story altogether.
