Are there Christians who understand how offensive certain types of questions are? (see below)?

It would be different if the asker were sharing the joy and love their religion brought to them, but the fear tactic, suggesting that people other than those who believe just like them are in some way “gonna have some explaining to do.” Is obnoxious.

It’s like the “hard sell” pitch that suggests imminent need to buy… now…or the buyer will lose the opportunity.

Are there Christians who view this as offensive, too? Is this really the “method” that Jesus suggested to “win souls?”

That question wasn't very hard sell, in my opinion.

In regards to how a Christian ought to win souls- we are to lead out our lives,  letting Christ "rule" over us, thereby producing good fruits- and that ought to show to others.  So they might wonder- "why is your family so differnent? Why do you have peace and joy as you do?"

Then we should bear witness to Christ.  And it is God who give the increase.

here's a clue....if you'll recall, it was Jesus who looked at them and blatantly said, 'no man comes to the Father excepty by me(Jesus)"....wanna get more hardcore than that??...not too PC huh? And here's another clue..since you're not guaranteed your next breath--just how long should a loving and caring person wittnessing to you wait to get down to 'brass tacks' as they say??..Understand, there IS an urgency to the message,even if we've learned to PC the delivery or not...If you had a son who was drowning, would you really wait till he "felt" like being saved before  you made some giant attempt to get him to shore? Well,like it or not, that is the urgency mentioned in more than one place in scripture when it comes to sharing the gospel with people...in a loving way(true)not hateful, but aggressive non the less..........peace!

They don't consider that an offensive question because they BELIEVE that after they die, they will stand before 'god'. So, they want the rest of us to have a shot at 'heaven'. For those of us who see NO EVIDENCE of any 'god', questions like that are just pathetic.

The wonderful thing about Q & A is that you can simply skip over the ones you don't like for any reason.  Why allow yourself to be offended?  That's your choice.

I found that particular question to be a loving inquiry.  And while I wouldn't ask it, I do wonder if Christians are your enemy because we tell you the truth.

I think you are a bit over sensitive. If you don't believe in God or an afterlife, how was it even addressed to you. It really was a question addressed to theists, from a theist.

All depends on context. If someone was to bash you over the head with h**l, that's not a very conductive way to tell people the good news. If a person brings up h**l as a consequence to an action during the course of a conversation, or question in this case, that leads there, then fine.

Honestly, Jesus won people over with His genuine concern and love for the lowest of the low. If you look at the people who rejected Him in His time, it was the self-righteous religious leaders of the day. If you look at who Jesus was hard on, it was the self-righteous religious leaders of His day. Same would probably be true today, He'd be hard on the self-righteous religious leaders of today. I don't think for a minute He liked how Rome worked, but He wasn't calling those people out for their sins, but those who should have known better.

I want to make a case for this whole country being those who should have known better... unfortunately that may have been true a generation or two ago, but because our spiritual forefathers didn't stand up for the Lord this generation isn't in the know any more, sad to say.
