  1. During the early 90's, WalMart is trying to infiltrate the Philippine market. Transactions were made with some big enterpreneurs, but for no apparent reasons, it failed!

Makro is already here for almost two decades now. 711 Conv. Store chain is everywhere, even in the remote towns of the country.

What's the connection of fluorescent lights with these western chain of stores? What is the relevance?

  2. there's a waltermart along E.rodriguez in Quezon City, right after Aurora Blvd before Trinity University of Asia (that is if you're coming from Welcome Rotonda)

the chain of stores that we have are those that found inside the malls - SM has Ace Hardware while Robinson's has Handyman. those are hardware stores that has a complete set of flourescent lights and other thingys needed for the house.

we also have puregold and makro as emerging huge stores with branches found all over Manila.

convenience strores we have 7-11 and mini stop but these two do not have a complete set of flourescent lights.

  3. Oh, just Waltermart

  4. WalterMart - I saw that store somewhere but I can't remember where.

SM is the only department store that can be compared to Wal-Mart in my opinion. SM has grocery, hardware, apparels, cookwares etc. but no auto service center btw.

  5. No K-marts or Walmarts in the Philippines... but there is a minimall chain called WalterMart, which I thought was affiliated with the US based WalMart as they sometimes use this abbreviation.

  6. there is a Mall of Asia on the Philippines..^_^

  7. No.  SM is the closest that you will find to a walmart
