Are there Statutory Rape Laws In the Netherlands?

I met a guy on-line five months ago and he's from the Netherlands and i'm from the USA the issue is that i'm 17 and he's 27 i was just wondering if anyone knows about the statutory rape laws in the netherlands because he's told me that our relationship is legal their but for some reason i just don't believe him.

Of course there are.

The age of consent in the Netherlands, like almost all European countries, is 16. It would, therefore, be legal for you to have s*x in the Netherlands.

The age of consent in "most" US States is 17 or below (a few are 18), so it would even be legal for you to have s*x in most US States.

BUT....... US *Federal* law makes it a crime to solicit a person under 18 for s*x online or over the phone. So if he asks you to go to Holland to have s*x with him, he's committing a crime under US law, even though the s*x itself would be legal.
