i am planning a cross country trip. i did it one other time in a hurry, this time i want to take my time. i want to do this on a scooter or "motor-driven cycle". is there a national law that i can go by as far as license and size scooter? or would i have to follow the laws of every state that i would travel in?

also, is there any online reasorce that has information on scooter laws? i have tried different DOT sites.. none of which are clear in the way they explain. or at least clear to me...

  1. There is no national vehicle code. You will need to check the laws in each state you will travel in.

Search for <state> motor vehicle code

  2. i believe you must be over 16 and have your basic driver's license
