Are there a lot of mosquitoes in the summer time in punta cana DR?

i was contemplating cancun but people tell me the place is saturated by mosquitoes. i hate mosquitoes. in punta cana i never saw any. is this consistent with YOUR experience?

People don't know what they talking about. The people from Canada who where ill in 2006, after serious analise's, they discover they where ill before taking the plane! The incubation time was faster due to difference of temperature from cold to warm. Of course it is easy the blame the other one. Much people have a illness inside their system and for example in a close environment it spread very fast (airplane)

yes there are a lot of mosquitos, unless the resort sprays for them, then you wont see many. but they dont carry disease. just itchy annoyance

Hiiiimy friend The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has recently been notified of two cases of malaria in Canadian travellers returning from the Dominican Republic. Additionally, a single case has also been recently reported in a US traveler. PHAC reminds travellers that antimalarial medication and the use of personal protective measures against mosquito bites are recommended for travel to resort areas within the province of La Altagracia [Map] as well as all rural areas of the Dominican Republic. The Canadian travellers became infected with malaria (Plasmodium falciparum) between December 15 and December 23, 2006 during their week long vacation to Punta Cana, a resort area located in the province of La Altagracia. The travellers did not take antimalarial medication and did not protect themselves against mosquito bites.

Here there a not much mosquitos ( I live in Puerto Plata) because of the ocean breezes.Trust me Take care choose me best answere i have get to level 2 !
