I'm a shy Japanese, I would like to immigrate to Europe, especially I find Germany is a place quite fine. But I'm worrying whether I'll be teased bad by the racists there, cause I'm noways confident to my Goddamned appearance! Especially I worship classical European looks, so I feel quite inferior to those who has the looks! I see numerous Germans blessed with these features equivalent to arts, I mean that's unfair that I can only appreciate the beauties yet can't own them onto myself forever!

  1. don't worry. germany is no longer home to just europeans, im a US soldier and im stationed here. i thought the same thing cause im a black amercan, but when i got here, i realized how very diverse it is. if you do decide to come, you are going to love it here!!!

  2. look if you don't mind me being direct, i don't think the problem here is the presence of "racists". we're all capable of having slightly racist thoughts every now and again - can you honestly tell yourself that you haven't? there's racists everywhere, and if this is your defining reason for not wanting to travel then the best advice anybody can give you is to stay at home and don't go out.

"...I'm noways confident to my Goddamned appearance! Especially I worship classical European looks, so I feel quite inferior to those who has the looks!".

i see this as an identity problem. simple as it may seem, you can't choose your parents. and just like everyone else you live with the cards you are dealt. if you see Japanese as inferior, learn some of your country's history. visit some museums. take a few traditional culinary classes. Japanese are one of the most disciplined and cultured race. and i don't see why you should believe otherwise.

    keep your head up!

  3. Unfortunately racism exists in all countries including your own....

Someday we may be able to see the end of it - but that isn't anytime soon.

  4. Yes, there is some racism in Germany. There is a certain amount racism everywhere. I think it arises from ignorance of other cultures. How they feel about Japanese, I cannot say. Racism, by the way, can be subtle. It is not always overt. It can simply be an "they are not really like us" attitude. I have felt that where I live and I am white.

Aside from that, how will you be able to immigrate to Europe? It is not as if you can just pack your bags and go. Do you have anyone who can sponsor you? What kinds of jobs would you expect to get? Being far away from home in a foreign country is not easy. I have lived my life abroad in various countries since the age of 23. That is 35 years. It is not easy, for sure. I only feel comfortable where I am now because I am fluent in the language, have assimilated, own my own home and have a good job. All that took over 20 years.

I suggest you see Germany as a place to vacation. It will be much more pleasant.

  5. No more so than in other countries.
