  1. I don't know if I am upset, but I am disappointed. I played from the time I was 4, along with other sports, so it kinda has a place in my heart. It's too bad it won't be in the Olympics anymore.

  2. It's a pity that it's taken out.  But it's a foregone conclusion.  It's only popular in the US, and Japan.  The rest of the world don't play it well enough for it to be a competition.

Though I don't really watch softball or baseball for that matter, but I do feel sorry for the athletes, even though it's not like they're going to starve.  The US domestic competition gives out enough money for the athletes to survive and continue to pursue their profession.

  3. I am not upset, I like cricket better

  4. absolutely! olympic softball is basically the only chance softball players have to "go pro." They can't just go play MLB. Softball doesn't get the same recognition as baseball. After college, women can't be recognized for their achievements by moving forward into a professional capacity. The USA softball team won 3 straight gold medals!!! Give them a chance. :)

  5. I enjoy watching softball, and like the fact it is another team sport. I am disappointed it will no longer be in the Olympics, when the travesty of rhythmic gymnastics, anything "synchronized" and equestrian still continue.

  6. softball is not a popular sport in the world.  i am glad it's out.

  7. Part of the reason is was eliminated is because the IOC thinks it's  baseball and there's been huge scandal with doping. They think softball is the female version of baseball and both sports are represented by 1 federation.  I am not upset by it being eliminated but I know there are a lot of young girls and hopefuls who are.  It's a shame. I don't think they will be able to get back in. The IOC is looking at other sports to fill the space.
