    There is no roof on the penalty box.

  11. They breathe the air that comes from the top of the box, because it is not enclosed.

    Do you know why the door opens into the box instead of onto the ice? The players used to delay returning to the game until they could slam the door open and flatten out an opponent!

  13. the box isn't all closed up there is no roof on top so the air is just  the same! they have no trouble breathing
