Question:

Are there any 3/4 motorcycle helmets that will protect your face?

I just started riding and really don't want to get a full-face, and it seems like someone could make one where the part of the helmet which surrounds your cheeks could extend out past your chin, thus protecting your face between those two points and the top of the helmet above your forehead which protrudes out as well...anything like this out there?

  1. I don't know of any helmet that meets those specs....  Like the other person that answered I'd say a flip up helmet might be the way to go.

I mainly responded to answer you other question... NO, the windscreen that some 3/4 helmets have would provide VERY LITTLE protection in the case that your face met with the pavement.  There designed to deflect road debris and bugs!

  2. dude quit crying and buy a full face helmet.

  3. You can get 3/4 with metal snaps around the outside.

Those are for plastic shields to snap to.

No bucket period is gonna keep you alive, just a false sense of sercurity

BTW kids when you wreck, if your bucket hits the ground you didnt fall right.

Ive been riding for over 40 years, and everyone from soccer mom, to old folks to a cop hit me.

Im still here, and my melon aint been dented yet.

But then I was riding when I was 5 and tought by profession racers.

  4. You could either go for a full face with flip front (keeps you cool at low speeds/in traffic) or a motorcross style with either goggles or bike friendly sunglasses (wind proof and shatter proof).

  5. No. but you COULD buy a modular helmet (commonly called a flip face/flip front helmet. These thing are designed to flip up so you could take a drink with your helmet on or wear your glasses, while putting your helmet on.  you can even talk to someone with your helmet on.  (You'd be amazed how much more friendly cops become when they can hear you speak and see your face, when they pull you over.)

    Checkout the Nolan N102.

  6. Yeah, and then it would be a full face helmet.  If you are going to wear a helmet at all don't skimp on safety equipment.
