  1. My husband and I just came from our honeymoon in Brazil.  We were there for 2 weeks.   The poster above was right the Cococabana Palace is a nice place.  A word of advice, we went to Salvador de Bahia.  I'd go there, it's a lot nicer than Rio.  You should really consider going there. The food is not expensive at all.  A four star resturant can cost you about $40 american dollars.  You can also eat cheap for about $15.  That's for 2 people.

  2. I seriously reccommend you stay somewhere in Copacabana, Ipanema or Leblon. Somewhere close to the beach, because guranteed that's where you'll spend most of your time. check out:

    http://www.ipanema.com/rio/hotels/e/apar...

for more info. It's a great site with pretty much everything you need to know.

By the way, the food in Rio is INCREDIBLE. You can buy all kinds of crazy stuff from beach/street vendors. Try their version of Churros - oh my gosh, sweet, artery-hardening goodness. Also Brazilian-style buffets are The Best for quality and value... basically you pile your plate with whatever and pay by weight...

but yeah. For regular meals you're looking at $4-$10 US, I think...

  3. Not that I know of, not in Rio.

Breezzes in Salvador is all inclusive, and a great hotel resort

  4. Hey I'm Marianna and I'm a travel agent and we do also weddings and honeymoons so if you have any questions you can send me a mail to southamerica_travel_expert@yahoo.com

  5. Copacabana Palace (great) *****

    Hotel Glória

  6. You should consider Buzios for a week or so, then a couple of days in Rio.

    Check www.buziosonline.com

    and

    www.casasbrancas.com

    and

    www.abracadabrapousada.com.br

its only 2 hours north or Rio, both hotels can provide transportation and its really nice.

then you get 2 days in Rio to check the sites.

Buzios has amazing nightlife, great restaurants and fantastic beaches.
