  1. i a american girl 19 i try powderpuff football but then i found Rugby way better it my life now!!!!!! tottly rugby!!!!!! !

  2. I am an American Rugby fan.  Football is just okay.

  3. <3 <3 Rugby <3 <3

    Rugger is my life!

Def prefer it over foot ball anyday.

  4. Well, im English, and i love rugby. Play for the local club. Iv tried watching American football, but it just seems so c**p compared to rugby lol, but i suppose thats coz i havnt grew up around it. Rugby all the way though!

  5. I don't but a lot of my soccer friends love it and some even play.

  6. NO! I think all Americans love football. We're NOT soccer fans either.

  7. YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!! I visited the south pacific this summer and learned rugby in Fiji and New Zealand and i think rugby is much better than football although football is cool too!

  8. I'm American, and I love rugby. During RWC years I don't even think about American football until the tournament is over. Then I have to spend the next month catching up, just to know what I'm talking about. I understand why American sports are more popular in America, but if ESPN cloud give a little coverage to rugby (as opposed to poker tournaments, and competitive eating) rugby just might catch on. (at least better then soccer).

  9. No No NO ! Nothing much comes close to American Football, except handguns, pornography, double grease burgers, 8 litre fossil fuel guzzling trucks, and bombing and killing anyone not speaking American English.

Stop the hate, forget the greed, spread the love.

Get your obese sepo asses out of the Persian Gulf !

  10. NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. I am American and not at all interested in football.  I played rugby for three years (off and on due to injury), and it is by far my favorite sport.

My rugby team was started at my college 4 1/2 years ago and is now more popular among the students than Football games are.  Out of a 1200 student college, around 1/4 of them showed up to the recent alumni game.

So, yes, there are many Americans who prefer Rugby.  In fact, I would say that it's popularity is currently in a growth spurt.  When they inevitably start showing the game on ESPN, I'll estimate that it'll be under a decade before it surpasses Football in popularity in America.

  12. yes- I do!

But you have to understand that here in the states, its just really hard to find rugby to watch on tv unless you have DirecTV and Setanta.  It is NEVER on ESPN.  they didn't even report the scores of the world cup.  Rugby is definitely growing in popularity as a sport to play... maybe TV might catch on.  Ive said this a million times but really it wont be televised due to the lack of adversitement time.  Amer. football ahs soooooo many breaks that its ridiculous, but in those breaks are millions of dollars of ads.

Secondly, amer. professional football (NFL) has become more than just a game- its an event- an all day event on sundays and monday nights. its a social thing- get together with the guys- go to the bar when your game isnt televised on network- its all about drinking beer, eating wings and pizza and watching a few games.  there are 3 games televised every sunday- 1 pm, 4 pm and then a night game.  Its just what we do.   its an american past time that will never end!

luckily i do have setanta channel and i have been able to watch games... enjoying heineken cup... its made me a better player to actually be able to watch it!  ive been playing on and off for about 15 years.  im pretty much self taught- had a coach for only 2-3 years of all those years and had to scrounge around for videos... it hasnt been easy!  programs are growing here and it is becoming more popular- even in youth and highschools.  its exciting!  wish i could have had all these opportunities!  we're finding in highschools that the kids that dont make the football teams (because theyve gotten so competetive) are turning to rugby because theres more opportunity for different strenght/ skill players.

  13. I love rugby and am from middle America (Indiana to be precise).  I like American football as well, but I prefer rugby.  It is just faster moving and a bit more exciting.

  14. I do, but that's because I lived in New Zealand for a few years. I can't get the Super 14 games here, so I do watch the NFL.

  15. I am a huge Rugby fan and I like Football as well. If I had to choose it would be Rugby though.

Born and Raised in the States!

  16. Yes.  Personally as I get older I am finding Rugby more fun than football.  So much that I am thinking about playing on the local club.

  17. I do.  I love rugby much more than American football.  Firstly, American football players scare me because as soon as they put on the pads they suddenly think they're invincible.  Plus, the game moves much faster in rugby,  In addition, in American football there essentially are 3 teams competing against each other, whereas rugby you have the same 15 players and 7 reserves playing both offense and defense.

I like rugby so much more that it's now gotten to the point that when i'm forced to watch American football i get all the rules mixed up because it's soooo much more confusing

  18. Yes, Rugby is the best sport in the world! I have lived in America my whole life, but I think that American football is an okay sport but way overrated.

  19. I am a die hard rugby fan.  I am born and raised in NY and I played football my whole life.  When I went to college, I discovered rugby!!  It seems that anyone who does not appreciate rugby does not understand the sport, on or off the field.  My passion for rugby is now to the point that I coach Under 19 boys and girls clubs and I am the president/captain of my men's club (all before i even turned 29).

The sport is rapidly picking up fans all over the US, and it is going to hit football fans by surprise.  It will become as big as football as soon as American football fans realize the brutality of rugby and begin to understand the amazing game of rugby.
