  1. Yep, my husband is american and we are now living in australia. Although every few years we move to america, then back here.

Now he hates chatting on blogs ect so I'll just let you know what he thinks of living here.

At the start he thought australian a little backwards and slow (as in dumb). He is from north carolina and the weather got to him also as he was used to snow and he moved into brisbane which is hot as for him. But after he actually got used to our lifestyle he relised that aussies aren't dumb we are just much more relaxed than americans. This took a while though. Now he loves this relaxed laid back approach and fitting in a little better.

He did also get a few rude aussies while living here. As ausssie seem to treat americans a little crappy sometimes. A dew think that all americans are rich and s****., so he got treated like this a bit. But over all most people were fine to him. You will get stupid questions from us aussies though like "oh yeah you live in nc, my granpa lived in california right near you right?" we just don't get american geography.

Another thing that he loves from living here is the solialiised medicine (free or don't pay heaps  for medical things). He hayes the schooling system though and our governent. Thinks we havent got our geads screwed on and that we should care more. He's always at the computer wondering what happening between obama and clinton. Hates clinton!

I know this is small thing but he also loves the way at a restraunt you actually get time to have a drink, and then all the meals take ages to come out so you can talk and drink in between. In america he always felt like cattle being fed really quickly then asked for his money. Giving you main meals before youve even finished your entrees. So we go to restraunts heaps hehehe. Also loves not tipping unless he absoloutly loves the service.

Gosh i could go on forever but i'll leave it at that. Hope that helps.

  2. I am from Australia and I enjoyed both trips to America.

I can't adjust to your winters, although I love the snow.

I wish I had enough funds to buy an apartment in New York and be able to travel to and throw in-between seasons.

I love the American culture, food, people, etc..

I like the uniqueness of every state, and I am drawn to the history of Hollywood and American theatre.

Yes, I confess, I prefer America.
