Are there any Berlens still living in Bari, Italy?

Question

Trifone Berlen and 1 or 2 of his brothers came to the U.S. over 80 years ago and were never in touch with Italy again. He and his wife, Beatrice Castellano, are both deceased now, but their children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren want to know if they have any living relatives in Italy. Thank you! Ciao!

Berlen can't be an Italian name. Probably it has been changed or mispelled when arriving to the US (Ellis Island).-

I can't figure which was the correct name of yr anchestors.

By guessing something in Italian with a similar sounding it could be Bellini and there are still 48 families in the phone guide in Bari's areahttp://pb.alice.it/execute.cgi?btt=1&tl=...

As to Castellano surname there are 46 families (belonging a phone #..!!) still living in Bari's area as per Italian White Pages

However both are pretty common names all over Italy and it's impossible to say if yr family is relative with any of them.

By better checking I've found this is really an Italian name (I had never heard before) and there are 66 families with phone in the White pages.

Also,by googling Italian sites, I've found a few links to people with this name. I wish somebody in yr family is still able reading our language since they are in Italian.
