  1. mmmm.. i wish i would know where Lindau is at exactly... im in Bamberg i think thats a lil far to drive for a coffe :-( but why dont you go out to the german economy and just start some chit-chat u will see, most of us germans are friendly and open people and you can easily make new friends! :-)

  2. Not in Bavaria, not a woman, but English speaking and a coffee sounds good.

    Aw c'mon, I got 50% right.

  3. If you're an American living in Germany, I'm going to assume that you're likely there because of the US military, in some capacity; if this is the case, there's plenty of English-speaking people on any of the many, many American posts in Bavaria (the same would go for the lady who answered from Hessen; there are quite a few posts in Hessen and in neighboring Rheinland-Pfalz--I myself was stationed in Hessen for 3 years).  If you're not in any way affiliated with the military, however, there will almost always be Americans visiting the bigger cities, as well as Americans floating around in the towns that host an American military post, like Bamberg or Ansbach or Wiesbaden or Kaiserslautern or any other number of places in southern Germany.  Even if not, many, many Germans speak English, and are quite friendly.  There are also many things to do and many places to see in Bavaria, Germany as a whole, and in the neighboring countries nearby--there's always something going on and some new, fascinating place to see.  If you need suggestions, I can give you quite a few--I did a LOT of traveling around that part of Europe during my time in Germany.

  4. I would have to agree with Brenden.  Get out & meet some folks.  I lived in Bavaria for two years...never bored. There are so many new places to go...new adventures just waiting for you.  If you are affiliated with the military...get involved in the German-American club...nice way to meet new folks, learn some German & give someone an opportunity to practice their English.  Gee...I still miss it every day.

    Best wishes~

  5. Have you tried chatting to people at

  6. I'm an American living in Hessen, and I don't know any Americans here, either.  I wish my son could play with other English-speaking children, so he doesn't only have me to speak English with.  Is there a German-American club in your area?  You might try checking that on the internet.  Good luck!
