Ambleside online is free. It's based on the Charlotte Mason method of doing things.

There are several places you can find a "classical" education cirriculum for free. Most are based on the "well trained mind" books.

There are other places you can find free or cheap curriculum sources.Some don't go all the way up thru 8th grade, but they will usually at least cover K-3.

This is a public school over the internet program, they provide you with a computer, printer, and reimburse you for a portion if not all of your monthly isp bill.  It varies from state to state but this is a totally free program.
