  1. Yes all those suggestions are good.  I knew of Edelweiss on Irving.  Never been there but usually cars...  But my suggestion is go up to Milwaukee to Mader's!  Milwaukee is very German!  www.maders.com  About a hour and a half up north but worth it!

  2. I have been to all the ones mentioned, and trust me go to The Brauhaus.  It's the only one in a really nice neighborhood and has really great food.

Berghoff's closed down almost a year ago and Mirabell is in a horrible neighborhood.

  3. There are lots of German restaurants in Chicago, IL.

The one I like the best is "The Berghoff" on West Adam St.; it has a big sign outside and you should not miss it.

  4. These are the ones I've been to:

    Edelweiss - 7650 W. Irving Park Rd.

    The Brauhaus - 4732 N. Lincoln Ave.

    Mirabell - 3454 W. Addison St.

You can also go to Metromix for several other German restaurant suggestions:

  5. Yes

  6. Schnitzelplatz! Its in the suburb of Glendale Heights on North ave. The address is 729 East North Avenue, yes it is the same north ave that runs through Chicago but I wouldn't suggest taking that all the way out.

    Its very fun and good!
