Are there any Islamic professors here?

Question

I want to pursue an Islamic studies degree God willing, but I'm not sure about the career oppurtunites. I know someone will probably say the knowledge of deen should only be done for Allah, but I do need to make a living to. So I would like to be a professor, but is there any demand for this and how would I find out? I tried looking online and can't find much about Islamic professors. Please help. May Allah reward you!

You have two issues in front of you :

1)  First of all whether  there is a degree in Islamic studies, and who will give you ? A university, a masjid or a madrassa ?

2) 2nd, Will you get a job as a professorship on Islam ?

I believe the first will be possible,because the choice of your doctorate depends on you . I know of a gentleman who got his Ph.D. on Chinese Influence on Malabar !

For the second I am sure universities in Muslim wealthy countries must be having a possibilities for such a job. May be in Turkey ?
