Are there any Italian families traceable to the Romans?

  1. Yes, they have survived overall through names that the Romans called 'gens' (jéhn-ss) like the 'Flamini', the 'Claudi', the 'Patrizi', etc. But not from Romans only, my family name derives from a people called 'Veneti', that long time ago, before Roman evolution culture, occupied all North of Italy. About 3000 years ago.
