  1. Depends on what you mean by feminists. I think in every way women are equal to men. But do I think women are better than men? Nope. Too old to fall for that one.

  2. The majority of the US feminist leadership is Jewish:

    Gloria Stenheim

    Naomi Goldberg

    Andrea Dworkin

    Betty Friedan

    Susan Sontag

    Nancy Friday

    Susan Faludi

  3. A truly antagonising, challenging question must at least be intelligently posited!

If Jewish feminists are too proud and strong to be considered feminists, then those of us from other cultures/belief systems must be...what then?

  4. Gloria Steinem! Hello!

Yeah? Are you trying to tell me that there aren't Jews in Germany?

    Her father is Jewish.

"she is known to be an observant Jew or practise Judaism religiously"

Yes, I know. I studied the Torah. I do know that you can still be a practising Jew no matter how you're born.

No, David, you're wrong. I read her book "revolution from within" (something like that) and she said the reason she became a feminist was because of a job experience she had as a journalist. If you want the 411 on that, email me. This happened to her not because of her religion or race but because of her gender. She was destined to be a feminist.

So you're saying that Jewish women are better then your average women?

No, I really don't know that. You're impying that Jewish women have a stronger attitude than your average women and I don't agree with you.

  5. well you mainly get the feminists in the reform and liberal congragations because they get much more of a say in what they do.

  6. I'm Jewish (culturally, not religiously), and most of the women in my family agree with the basics of feminism. What makes us prouder and stronger than women of any other ethnicity? And why shouldn't women who are already proud and strong call themselves feminists if they want to?

  7. Many Jewish women are proud feminists.
