Question:

Are there any London trains running twenty-four hours/past midnight?

I mean trains heading out of the city itself to other cities, not just the tube and that. All of them seem to stop running at around midnight so far as I can tell, but are there any stations where trains run past midnight?

  1. If you ring this number  08457484950 they will give you all the train times to and from  wherever you want to go .

  2. There are some services that run all night, or start their journey after midnight.. For example;

    There is an hourly service between London Paddington & Reading.

    There's also an hourly service between Bedford & Brighton/Three Bridges, there is also a service from London Victoria to Gatwick/Brighton

    There are services to / from Manchester Airport that run through the night.

    The 01.05 Waterloo to Southampton service gets into Southampton at 03.30.

    There are lots more, but in simple terms, if you are after a regular interval service through the night then outside London & the South East, forget it!

  3. I know Silverlink run trains to Northampton From Euston all night.

  4. Victoria to Gatwick Airport has late night and early morning trains.

  5. Very limited after 1am, but on the Southern Routes, you do Have London to Gatwick and London to Brighton. The trouble is do you pay the staff extremley unsociable hours pay to allow movement, how cost effective is it compared to numbers, which stations enroute do you keep open and manned, what happens to the overnight engineering blocks, will the stock be in the right place for the morning peak period, will the movements jepodise the train envromental / engineering plans for those units? What relaxation can you give on the restirictions of day tickets (after 2am a day ticket is no longer valid unless you are still completeing your journey)

    A lot of work for moving a few people.

  6. Some trains arrive in the south west well in the morning
