Critics of the McCanns should be silenced forever by this picture of Kate McCann taken at a Press conference to launch a missing child alert scheme. This once bright, radiant woman now has 11 months of guilt and grief etched on her face.

Reports that Madeleine told her parents: "Mummy why didn't you come when we were crying last night?" hours before her disappearance, only heigh tens the McCanns' unbearable guilt. Leaving their three young children alone in their apartment that night was a grave mistake. It has cost them their daughter and any genuine, future happiness.

It's been a sobering lesson for every parent. Now, by devoting time to a scheme to help find otherabducted children, the McCanns should be applauded, not punished. They've already punished themselves enough.

That says a lot to me. A woman who does not appear particularly domesticated, washes holiday curtains, also, apparently turned away the  cleaners & cleaned the apartment herself on 3rd May 07.

Well there has been lots of speculation over the last 11 months and only thing we know for sure the babies were left alone at night in a foreign country and as a direct result of this Maddie is missing. Now if one of us left 3 of our children tucked up in their own beds at night while we when shopping for 30 minutes and something dreadful happened we would be prosecuted and rightly so. This being the case why the h**l have this pair excaped child neglect charges .There is no excuse they left their children they should pay for it and to all you supporters you are no better than them.

If you think a supporter is  anybody who thinks that the McCanns are innocent of having anything to do with their child being missing (other than the fact that they left her alone), then yes I am a supporter, although I do not often post on questions about them anymore because most of the time you lot are posting the same rubbish.

What do you hope to get out of your continued hate campaign?  They remain 'innocent until proven guilty' of any involvement in their child's disappearance and that child is still missing, nearly a year on.

Seems there are, appears to be some very stubborn  and blinkered people still around in spite of the recent revelation re Madeleine ( allegedly ) asking her mother why she did not come to her in the night whilst she was crying. Taken at face value which those who believe in the parents must do, how on earth can anyone justify their subsequent actions? beggars belief! .....for the record I firmly believe those words were never uttered as the child was dead by that day ( May 3rd )

I defend them, because they lost their child because of a silly mistake they made. The McCanns were naive, nothing more in my eyes.

As I write this, I'm pretty sure that the Portuguese are finalising the prosecution evidence against this obnoxious pair who seem more concerned about preserving their reputations rather than trying to find their missing daughter. Their campaign has now disintegrated into slurs against the Portuguese police, in the faint hope that somehow this will help them evade justice. The recent "leak" of a purported statement was well-timed from the McCanns' point of view; it just happened to coincide with their trip to Brussels which did little to add value to an early warning system for missing children which was proposed as long ago as 2006.
