  1. Active drivers, no.

  2. No, they're to busy running from the cops. Oh i'm sorry that was a racist comment i guess. Oh wait it can't be racist if it's true.

  3. Currently no. Bill Lester(African American) used to drive in the Truck Series. He also ran a couple Cup events. In 2003 (back in the field filler days there was an Asian driver), went by the name Hideo Fukuyama(he finished 33rd in the race results link below. There is the drive for diversity program, which is not just for one race or another but all minority races. I am sure as the sport grows more and more worldwide we could see drivers come from a more diverse backgrounds.

  4. Who cares about the color of a drivers skin.,the ability to drive a race car should be the only thing that matters, s***w the popularity...we already have that with a t-shirt, trinket salesman that should be racing in the go-cart circuit...

  5. yes, there have been in the past and there are some development drivers in the lower series (nascar camping world east & west - in particular i think of marc davis from jgr, who isn't 18 yet), but i don't think there are any right now in the top three series. there have been a few african-american drivers in the series since 1955 or so, but only one that i know of, wendell scott, is "well-known."  there was a movie made about him starring richard pryor ("greased lightning").

"Not only was Wendell Scott the first and most prolific of all African-Americans in the sport but also the most successful. Scott went on to start a total of 495 races in NASCAR's top series from 1961 through 1973. Wendell is also the only African-American to date to score a win."

there are a couple of other articles on the net that discuss two drivers that came before him in the 1950s, but they ran few races and with little success. willy t. ribbs ran three races and finished one in 1986. as for today, bill lester has run in the truck, nationwide, and cup series a few times between 1999 and 2006.

as for asians, i remember the first person i cheered for at my first race - hideo fukuyama - who ran 2 races each year in 2002 and 2003 and had a best finish of 33rd, at the race i cheered him on - the vegas race in 2003. he finished nine laps down and finished 33rd mainly because of a big wreck toward the end that took out many of the bigger names. he was getting lapped so much and running all by himself most of the time in the #66 i cheered him on, figuring someone needed to... i'm pretty sure there must have been others, i just know that one in particular because i was cheering him on at the track.

  6. I'm in NASCAR im black BOY!

  7. There have been black drivers, and there are some young black drivers in the regional series, but none in the Cup.

I don't know of any Asian drivers.

There are some Hispanic drivers coming up.  Juan Pablo Montoya is from Colombia, and Aric Almirola is Cuban-American, and both are in the Sprint Cup.

I know that NASCAR has been trying for more diversity.  I have noticed more black officials and crew members in the past few years.  And I'd love to see more and more of that!

  8. African American drivers are/were....

    Wendell Scott,

    Bill Lester,

    Willy T. Ribs.

No Asians that I know of.

  9. HAHAHAH no way

  10. only when the word diversity comes along with it if a black or Asian was any good they ed be racing since the few black drivers that were forced upon the racing community could not produce any good results why is it that when nascar became so popular in the last few years did the subject of black drivers even come up where were the blackies 15 to 20 years ago
