.......that are fed up with all the paper work and planning that we have to do? Cos i work nearly full time (4/5days) i seem to do all my paper work at home and its encroaching on my home life. I seem to eat, sleep, and breathe Nusery. Planning, stepping stones, preparation for activities the next day, individual targets for key children, report writing.... is it just me? or does any one else feel like this? Its not like we do this job for the money is it?

I'm beginning to seriously question if there is more to life... HELP!

  1. sure.

  2. Okay, I'm not a nurse, but my mom has been for 35 years. She has probably worked in nearly every area of nursing imaginable over the years, and I can tell you that what you describe is the norm, no matter what kind of nursing you do. It's going to take a huge overhaul of the whole system to change anything, and I don't know how and/or who is up to the challenge. I could go on and on, but I won't write a book here for you, lol.

  3. Hi jules i know exactly what you mean ive been in nursery nursing for 13 years and ive never known so much paperwork i feel i no longer have time for the children as i am constantly catching up with records, planning, observations etc i almost feel like i ought to be in a receptionists or office workers job. As for more to life im afraid i cant answer that one i seem to be in the same place as you at the minute lol.

  4. I am  a nursery teacher and I'd definitley agree.  I also have other coordinator roles inc SEN at school but at least i get a break during hols.  I also support a local private provider 0 - 4yrs and they work longer hours with fewer hols.  i really do feel for them.  I dont think anyone who works/cares for younger children does it for the money.  I personally feel that some of the paper work ( you obviously need some of it) detracts from the excellent work most staff provide.

  5. Yup I'm doing paperwork/making resources/sorting out work for students etc EVERY night for at least 2 hours. I work full time in Nursery class I've been N.N.E.B. since 1974 working mainly in schools.   Nice to speak to another NN x

  6. Pre-school supervisor who finds the paperwork is starting to take the fun out of my job.

I love working with the kids, but the stress of paperwork deadlines, OFSTED, reports and development records is taking its toll.

My sympathy is with you, though I'm afraid I think they may bring some more out at any second!!!!
