Hi! Hows the work? do you still love it after all the years you've been doing it? hows the pay? would you change your career at all?

  1. I do it, but on a very small scale. I needed to have a creative outlet, so I started baking for the farmer's market. I've been doing it for 6 years now, and I don't have any plans to stop any time soon. The pay isn't the stellar, but I'm not loosing any money and it's nice to have some extra cash- it usually lets me do fun things in the summer and then pays for Christmas. The other vendors are nice, if I have extras I usually swap out at the end of the day for veggies at home. I still have my day job, so I'm not doing the baking full time, but maybe one day.  


  2. working in a kitchen is h**l...especially a fast paced restaurant.  perferction is always a must, controlling waste, etc.  Dotn forget the yelling cooks.  But if you are cut out for a fast paced high stress job go for it.  I did love creating new food creations :)

  4. if you are a good pastry chef and work in a really good restaurant the pay is awesome
