Hello everyone,

I'm still in H.S, plan on attending a very solid college in spite of my SAT scores due to good grades and extra-currics.

My question- if I want to attend law school after 4 years, is there a SAT type of test I need to take?

Thanks.

  1. Yes, it's called the LSAT.

You take it before you earn your undergraduate degree as part of the law school application.

  2. It's called the LSAT (Law School Admission Test) it's NOTHING like the SAT. I'm currently practicing for my LSAT in October. Believe me, ANYONE would rather take the most difficult SAT exam EVERYDAY of their lives than take the LSAT once. The LSAT is absolutely the most difficult exam you can prepare for when it comes to law school. It consists of logical reasoning, reading comprehension, and a "games" section. Which is something like if Alex is first, jen is between jeff and robert but not behind john, Jack is after Robert, Jim is exactly 2 spaces between Alex and Robert. The question is Where is ROBERT?. You have 1 minute to answer that question.

Well something like that, it's very confusing and a pain to practice for. The reading comprehension, you read about the most boring topics that you never want to know about. Something like a 1300's painting and how it affects society in those days. Or something crappy like novels that you never heard of and that are made for readers who like the to discuss the most boring most difficult most uninteresting topics.

Logical reasoning, is difficult as well. They give you a paragraph with 5 possible answers. ALL are correct answers but they want the BEST answer. It's not as easy as it sounds.

It's definately the most important exam you'll ever take and the most difficult. You only have 35 minutes for each section and 30 questions. Plus there's a writing section at the end which isn't scored but looked at by lawschools that you're applying to.

It's a very pain in the butt process of getting into lawschool. Very competitive.

  3. Yes, the LSAT.

  4. Yes.  It's called the LSAT (Law School Admission Test).  Many law schools require that the LSAT be taken by December for admission the following fall.
