  2. I think Rutgers has it, you could take the summer/continuing education class of it.  Columbia in New York has it.  If you want to go back to school you could take it there through the school of general studies.

    Don't bother with an online course, the most important thing when learning Sanskrit is grammar, pronunciation (unless your very serious) is less important since you are most likely never going to speak it to anyone.  If you can't take a class in person I suggest buying and reading Robert Godman's

    It is a a great textbook that includes practice readings from the Ramayana.  My Sanskrit class at Columbia uses that book aswel as MacDonell's A Sanskrit Grammar For Students.  Good Luck
