Are there any U.S. Cities that have or allow Rickshaw type pedicabs?

I think they'd be perfect for short downtown jaunts or neighborhood trips. I havent' thought out the whole idea yet. What do you think?

Chicago and NYC, for sure. I have used both in both cities. In both cases, the people who were doing the pedeling would rent the pedicabs from a company and use them for the day. Renting them means that you don't have to buy one and they come with a license. You will need a license to operate one, so renting one means they take care of all that. You pay a flat rental fee for the day and turn them in at night. I don't remember what they paid for the rent, but I do remember they made decent money. Plus tips. Usually the students do that over the summer.
