I work and go to college. Because I have a job I cannot get govt assistance? I am an American, born and raised. I do not make enough to afford rent and send my son to day care. Has anyone came across anything where the govt will help you with day care? I am not looking for food or medical assistance. Any websites for legit grants or anything is appreciated.

  1. Your college probably has a counseling office that should be able to point you in the right direction.

You are also probably more likely to find assistance locally, as in, your city or your state.

However, I would try to Google "Federal daycare assistance" or " (your state) daycare assistance" and see what sites appear. Be sure to look for sites that end in ".gov" to be sure that they're legit. And good luck!

  2. There's an organization called Crystal Stairs that's affiliated with L.A. County that subsidizes childcare expenses if you qualify for it. It sounds like you may indeed qualify for the program. There are other such programs located in L. A. County that can help you with your baby sitting expenses. If you are not located in or near L.A. County then check with your county government where you live at....
