  1. The US is very bigoted, I doubt it.

  2. That's very specific. You should google it up; I'm sure you'll find something there.

If you're looking for specific area like that, then you should look up faculty members in the department  (in your case, Architecture) who work in the area/teach the course (i.e., Islamic Architecture). If there are no faculty members working in the area, then it's highly likely the course isn't taught in that school.

When you do find, write to the prof for advice. He might be able to direct you to other schools that are more focused in that area. Good luck!

  3. Just a quick search pulled up this link: http://web.mit.edu/akpia/www/ .

It looks like there's a center run by Harvard and MIT in Boston. I'm not sure if it's seperate from the universities or if you have to be admitted into one of the schools, but I'm sure that info is on there.

I would look through the websites of the architecture schools at whatever universities you'd be interested in attending to see if they either have a course, an expert on the faculty, or opportunities to study Islamic architecture. It sounds like that's something that you can't really get a degree in, but with all the classes available at some schools I'm sure you can study it in some form.

    Hope that helps.
