Are there any Veg*n cafe/restaurants in Central London that serve decent food?

I hoping for some places that serve tasty rather than "worthy" food. Not all of my family are veg*n so we need somewhere we all can eat without having to resort to Pizza Express

  1. Look out for South Indian Thali houses - there's a whole bunch of them in Drummond Street, near Euston, really delicious vegetarian curries!  Most places in London these days do good vegetarian options though, so you shouldn't have any problems.

  2. There are so many such restaurants to choose from in London.  Try looking up the list on VegDining.com.  They have reviews from customers so this could help you decide which one is best for your tastes.  Personally, I'd recommend Mantra.  Here's the link:

If you have mixed company, the best option would be to dine in those restaurants classified as vegetarian-friendly.

    Enjoy your trip!

  3. How about Asian Food?  When I was in London in 2000, I order vegetarian dishes from the non-vegetarian chinese restaurant in Chinatown there.

You can always let them know if you are vegan, some of the chinese stir-fry are vegan.  Then, your non-vegetarian family members can have their meal and you can have yours.

  4. Govindas in Soho street serve delicious hearty meals at a low price. Yum it's my favourite veggie restaurant.  Two or three streets away from Totenham Crt tube station.  Enjoy!

  5. Mildreds in Soho and The Gate in Hammersmith (ok maybe not quite central London, but worth a visit) are two I can think of right now, but there are plenty out there.

  6. There is a veggie/vegan cafe right near Farringdon station that I noticed last time I was down there but I haven't tried it.
