Question:

Are there any adult center teaching hairdressing without charging outrageous fees?

I have been looking for a beaty school where I could learn hairdressing/hairstyling. So far, I've only found high class schools with 13 thousand dollar tuitions. I can't afford that.

Are there, in Ohio, any adult centers or learning annex that can teach this for less? WAY less. :-)

  1. define "outrageous".  meet with an advisor at the local community college for assistance.

  2. Most counties have Vocational schools which teacg Adult Education for Hairdressing.  It will cost less than $500.00 and all your supplies are included,  In fact, thats what you are paying for , just the supplies.  It teaches you the same things that those expensive schools teach you.  It only teaches you how to pass the state board exam.  Your real learning will be in the salons, they only teach the basics.  Don't waste your money on those other schools even though they will try and tell you different.

  3. You need to ask another question.... Does the school accept federal financial aid?  If so, you may be able to receive a Pell Grant (one that you don't pay back) as well as low interest loans for the rest.    13K is not outrageous.  Many good ones  - ones that will be worth a year of education - cost much more than that.
