Are there any affordable areas to live in California?

We are looking for the benefits of the year-around great weather but not the too-high price of living and traffic. Maybe something more rural, away from the coast?

  1. I live in Blithe, California and is fairly cheap. El Centro, CA seems also good and nice. In Arizona, really close, Yuma and Lake Havasu are really nice places.
