Are there any alternative litters for cats that would be better for the environment? ?

i used an orange peel one in the past but it looks like the company dissapeared. the clays just seem to unhealthy to people and especially the cats.

  1. Cedar litter is a good alternative, and so is Swheat.  Yesterday's news is made out of recycled newspaper, which isn't bad either, except I wonder if they really get all the harmful things that are part of the ink.   I would only use Yesterday's News as a last resort.

    Great question and glad you are considering keeping the environment cleaner.

    We use Worlds Best Litter. Made of corn, it is highly degradable, flush-able and septic safe. It clumps and is practically dust free.

    PetsMart is selling it now, as well as many good quality pet stores, in addition to online carriers, such as petfooddirect.com

  3. Yup! Arm and Hammer makes an All Natural cat litter.. It comes in a large yellow bag. My cats love it, and refuse to use any other litter. And it's actually just a couple dollars more than that c**p clay litter.
